AboutThe Role
We seek a Senior Construction Manager to provide construction management support services to our valued client's data center practice. 3 to 10 years’ construction experience is required. The Senior Construction Manager’s main responsibility is to monitor and report on design, bidding, cost and scheduling events with 100% transparency. Escalation of risk is the number one priority. The client should never be removed from the equation.
Decisions involving schedule, cost, safety, coordination, and design shall be made by the client and the A/E team. This role requires a high level of organization and attention to detail. - Escalation:
The #1 priority is to bring issues to the client without delay. You are not responsible for resolving them, just keeping the client fully aware. - Payment Applications:
Review general contractor pay applications for accuracy, completeness, and confirm levels of completion using Infrastructure Trackers. - Change Orders:
Review change order requests for accuracy, completeness, supporting documents, and scope justification. Escalate orders >30 days old. - Vendor Invoices:
Verify correct equipment delivery, damage-free, and functioning before payment. - Daily Review:
Logs, photos, and trackers to stay aware of issues, risk exposure, trade progress and support other reporting. - Meet with the CM daily to discuss activities, trade progress and facilitate video conferences with Architect and Engineer for RFIs and submittals.
- In meetings (OAC, ad hoc, standing) and conversations, be eyes & ears for the client; escalte real and potential risks.
- Complete the Weekly Construction Update.
- 3 to 10 years’ construction experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or related field; can be waived with five+ years direct industry experience.
- Acute attention to detail.
