Job DescriptionSummer Camp Coordinator
Position Information: A Coordinator will be selected and start planning and working upon hire (hiring teachers, designing program and planning for targeted student participation, etc.). The summer camp program will be at Porfirio H. Gonzales Elementary School for the following dates:
June 1–25, 2026. The program will service students for sixteen days during June, each program day will be five hours long.
Under general direction, Coordinators oversee the implementation of the 21st Century and other grants accordingly, to include designing programs to meet academic needs, supervising temporary employees, managing budget, attending meetings, and evaluating student data and completing required reports. In addition, incumbents work with District staff, community partners, and other constituents to ensure the programs are meeting the objectives of grant-funded programs are met and in compliance.
Compensation: $4,500 for the summer camp.
Summer camp activities upon hire: securing facilities, materials, planning programs, and managing daily activities; assist with final program reporting; duties as assigned.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other instructional field; three years of contracted teaching, counseling, or related experience in a public-school setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: It is preferred that the applicant possess the following qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position. One coordinator must have special education certification/experience.
- Master’s degree in Education
- ESL/Bilingual/SEI Endorsement and experience working with ELL
- Three years of supervising after school programs
