STEAM Teacher
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics
Qualifications:
Hold a valid Arizona Elementary with a middle school endorsement in Science, or Math and hold a valid fingerprint clearance card. Teaching experience preferred.
Reports to:
Principal or as otherwise assigned by the Superintendent
Job Goal:
To inspire and engage kindergarten – 8th grade students in hands-on learning experiences that promote creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving across science, technology, engineering, art, and math in a classroom setting designed to foster a love for STEAM and prepare students for future academic success.
Essential Functions/Performance Responsibilities:
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.Develops and maintains a safe and orderly inquiry based, project minded classroom environment that promotes problem-solving, innovation and a growth mindset.Plans, develops and implements engaging STEAM lessons aligned with district guidelines and state standards with written evidence of preparation.Introduces students to foundational concepts in coding, robotics, engineering, and other STEAM disciplines.Integrates technology tools and digital resources to enhance student learning and collaboration.Designs and guides students through hands-on experiments, projects, and STEAM challenges.Collaborates with teachers to integrate STEAM into other subject areas.Monitors and assesses student progress, adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.Promotes a positive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and supported.Participates in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in STEAM education.Communicates regularly with families to share student progress and foster a strong school-community connection.Ensures a safe, organized, and well-managed learning environment that encourages active engagement.Serves as a site trainer for technology related materials - including but not limited to Interactive Boards, Laptops, 3D Printers, iPads, Coding, and STEAM materials.Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Other responsibilities as assigned.Terms of Employment:
Exempt. Ten-month work calendar. Salary and work calendar as established by the Governing Board.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy.
