Role Purpose

The Equipment Engineer II supports manufacturing performance by diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues, analyzing equipment faults, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role partners with the area supervisor to address major equipment anomalies and shares technical expertise with operational engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead major downtime anomaly investigations (e.g., single‑line welding machines exceeding specified times or first‑time failures), analyze and implement corrective actions, and ensure 100% implementation of measures.
  • Ensure 100% completion of the department’s KPI indicators and responsible metrics.
  • Promote equipment improvement and innovation projects, achieving at least two department‑level improvements per quarter and at least one company‑level improvement per year.
  • Conduct QCC special activities as directed, creating Gantt charts to ensure timely completion.
  • Produce technical reports and conduct no less than one technical training session per month, based on training attendance.
  • Own area‑specific technical improvement projects, including independent solution design, process management, and project reporting.
  • Develop engineering exam papers and submit them for review.
  • Spare parts management, including:
    • Establish rational standards for consumables.
    • Check for duplicate spare part requisitions.
    • Analyze monthly consumption to maintain reasonable inventory.
    • Verify incoming spare parts.
  • Update operating specifications, collaborating with clerks to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Assist in identifying equipment safety risks and preventing accidents.
  • Communicate with manufacturers on main equipment issues and improvement directions.
  • Meet departmental and company‑level improvement and innovation indicator requirements and promote engineers’ improvement awareness.
  • Assist supervisors with 5S audits and operation standardization.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related fields.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • At least two years of equipment maintenance experience, preferably in photovoltaic or semiconductor industries.
  • Proficiency in electrical or mechanical maintenance, mechanical design, circuit design, or programming.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organizational coordination, team‑building, and innovation capabilities.
  • Integrity, honesty, meticulousness, and the ability to handle pressure.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Working Conditions
  • Extended hours as needed.
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, and noise.
  • Mandatory protective equipment use.
  • Potential work after hours, weekends, or holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lb, frequent lifting up to 20 lb, and constant lifting up to 10 lb to move objects.
  • Requirement to speak and hear for communication and safety.
  • Capacity to perform all job functions, including pushing or pulling controls.

Salary range: $81,104.00 – $ (full‑time).
