Process Engineer
Duration: 6 months, with potential to extend
SummaryThe Process Engineer will provide hands-on support in a manufacturing environment to identify equipment, product, process, or operational issues and implement practical corrective actions that improve safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
Top Skills/RequirementsBachelors is required, plus 2 years professional (not academic) Process Engineer experience in a manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities- Provide hands-on engineering support on the manufacturing floor to troubleshoot equipment, product, process, and operational issues.
- Analyze data, observations, and process conditions to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Recommend, implement, and verify corrective actions to improve quality, uptime, throughput, and process stability.
- Support equipment start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, qualification, and process optimization.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and vendors to resolve issues and sustain improvements.
- Maintain procedures, standard work, technical documentation, and clear communication of findings and recommendations.
- Manufacturing floor troubleshooting

- Data analysis and process improvement
- Cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clear technical documentation and communication of findings, risks, and recommendations
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another STEM field required.
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or plant environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify equipment, product, process, or operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with plant procedures.
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another STEM field
- Experience with root cause analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, or other continuous improvement methods.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems, process controls, data analysis tools, and production performance metrics.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor engaging with operators and observing processes.
- This role is primarily manufacturing-floor based and may require occasional off-shift or extended-hour support to meet operational or project needs.
- Considerable time will be spent walking and standing on the production floor.
