The Process Technician II serves as a technical resource within the manufacturing operation, responsible for troubleshooting process issues, driving process stability, supporting equipment and process optimization efforts, and leading first-level root cause investigations. This role works closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to improve manufacturing performance, reduce defects, and ensure safe, efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently investigate process abnormalities, identify probable root causes, and implement corrective actions to restore stable production.
- Lead first-level troubleshooting activities related to process performance, product quality, equipment interaction, and production flow.
- Monitor and analyze key manufacturing metrics including yield, throughput, downtime, scrap, repair rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Utilize process data and trend analysis to identify emerging issues before they impact safety, quality, or production performance.
- Partner with Engineering and Maintenance teams to support root cause investigations and process improvement projects.
- Validate and sustain process improvements through standardized work, operator training, and process audits.
- Support new equipment startup, process qualifications, and implementation of manufacturing changes.
- Audit and reinforce adherence to standardized work procedures and manufacturing best practices.
- Train and mentor operators and junior technicians on process standards, troubleshooting techniques, safety requirements, and manufacturing best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of process parameters, changes, and results.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to all American Panel Solutions and OSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
- Meet or exceed company safety standards.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Associate's Degree in a technical field preferred;
Technical or Vocational training or relevant manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. - Working knowledge of OSHA, safety, environmental, and manufacturing compliance requirements.
