Maintenance Technician II - Streets (Maintenance)
The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as Maintenance Technician II
- Streets. The Maintenance Technician II – Streets position is responsible for performing semi-skilled to skilled repairs and maintenance on public right-of-way infrastructure. Duties include inspecting, troubleshooting, and diagnosing issues to determine the appropriate repairs and preventative maintenance needed. The technician will operate specialized and heavy equipment; maintain and repair City streets, sidewalks, signage, easements, alley ways, and related property; and document all work performed in logs, reports, and records.
This role also involves prioritizing work orders and setting up traffic control signs and barricades to ensure the safety of both workers and citizens; and performs related work as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution and as assigned, two (2) years of work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. A valid Class A or B CDL with applicable endorsements, including Airbrake, is required at time of hire.
Desired Experience/KnowledgeA candidate with three (3) years experience in a related field, along with a Traffic Control Certification (TCT or TCS) and a Pesticide Applicator Certification is highly desired.

Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, and intense noises.
Full Salary Range : $25.85 - $36.19 Hourly
