Position OverviewWe are seeking a Hydro Excavation Truck Opera
tor to join our team at our Phoenix, AZ branch. This field-based position plays a key role in supporting our pipeline cleaning and maintenance operations and may require occasional overnight travel.
- Perform day lighting, potholing, trenching, and other excavation tasks using pressurized water and vacuum systems.
- Perform precise excavation tasks using high-pressure water to break up soil and vacuum systems to remove debris.
- Perform debris removal, slot trenching, day lighting, digging, line cleaning and camera inspections
- Dig trenches, holes, and slots for various construction, utility, and maintenance projects.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.
- Able to always put safety first while operating the hydro-excavation truck
- Must be able to communicate efficiently while working with coworkers
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Will be required to climb, kneel, and crawl through tight spaces as well as be comfortable in confined spaces
- Complete all required documentation e.g. online works orders, DOT requirements, etc.
- Follow all policies and procedures set out by the Company
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager or crew leader
- Overnight travel up to 25%, as needed
- Education & Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- At least 1 year of experience in a Hydro Vacuum Excavation truck preferred
- Experience in the same industry is preferred
- Must possess a minimum CDL Class B with acceptable driving record and a tanker endorsement.
- Must have current DOT medical card.
- Experience working in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.
- Safety certifications preferred but not required (eg. First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Space)
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, MVR and background check
- Must work daily and weekend overtime as needed or assigned.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Skills:
- Ability to read, write and accurately follow oral and written instructions
- Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation
- Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere
- Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks
- Full-time, field-based role
- Overnight travel may be required depending on project assignments
