The Human Services Technician plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families within our community. This position directly impacts client well-being by providing essential support, resources, and guidance. You act as a crucial link, connecting clients to the services they need and empowering them to achieve greater stability and independence. Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conducts Needs Assessment to identify and evaluate the specific challenges and requirements of each client, ensuring tailored support plans.
  • Manages Client Intake processes efficiently, collecting comprehensive information and accurately documenting client profiles to initiate services.
  • Applies Cultural Competency in all interactions, demonstrating sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences to build trust and rapport.
  • Ensures HIPAA Compliance by strictly adhering to all privacy regulations and maintaining the utmost confidentiality of client information and records.
  • Upholds Ethical Conduct in every aspect of the role, maintaining professional boundaries, integrity, and accountability in client and organizational interactions.
  • Utilizes De-escalation Techniques effectively to manage and resolve challenging or tense situations, promoting a safe and calm environment for clients and staff.
  • Engages in Problem-Solving to address client barriers and find practical solutions, navigating complex service systems and advocating for client needs.
  • Provides direct support and guidance to clients, assisting them in accessing community resources and navigating service pathways.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions, progress, and service delivery.
  • Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure coordinated and comprehensive client care.
Required Qualifications Education

Possesses an Associate's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

Experience

Demonstrates at least one year of experience working directly with vulnerable populations or in a human services environment.

Knowledge/Skills
  • Applies strong understanding of Needs Assessment principles and practices.
  • Executes proficiently in Client Intake procedures and data management.
  • Exhibits high level of Cultural Competency and sensitivity.
  • Adheres strictly to HIPAA Compliance standards and client confidentiality.
  • Practices consistent Ethical Conduct and professional boundaries.
  • Employs effective De-escalation Techniques in various situations.
  • Possesses excellent Problem-Solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Communicates clearly and empathetically, both verbally and in writing.
  • Organizes tasks and manages time effectively to prioritize client needs.
  • Works collaboratively within a team environment and with external agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Possesses relevant certifications in crisis intervention or case management.
  • Is bilingual, with proficiency in Spanish or another language prevalent in the community.
Physical Requirements /Work Conditions
  • Works primarily in an office setting, with occasional travel to client homes or community locations.
  • Sits, stands, and walks for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Lifts and carries light objects (up to 15 pounds) such as client files or resource materials.
  • Navigates potentially emotionally challenging situations with resilience and professionalism.
  • Operates standard office equipment, including computers and phones.
