Position Details- Weekends off
- Night dispatches – routes start at 4PM
- Night driving
- First‑year salary: $60,000–$75,000 per year
- Paid for every stop/cube/mile after training
Food and food‑service delivery drivers are critical to the nation’s food supply chain. They ensure products arrive on time, in good condition, and are the face of our company, building lasting customer relationships.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe driver operates a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate, local, over‑the‑road, shuttle, overnight, or drive‑and‑drop routes.
Duties include:
- Perform daily safety checks (pre/post‑trip inspections per DOT regulations)
- Report all safety issues and required repairs
- Inspect trailers for proper loading and secured freight
- Count and verify items against customer invoices
- Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly
- Load/unload products at customer sites, ensuring proper signatures and handling payments (cash or checks)
- Secure all equipment and freight, locking doors as required
- Document hours of service per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Maintain a clean truck, loading dock, and trailers; remove trash as required
- Assist with general housekeeping and safety within the department
- Perform any additional related duties as assigned
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Valid CDL‑A (must be 21+years)
- All state licensing and certification requirements met (where applicable)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3years
- Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test and obtain/maintain current DOT Health Card
- Ability to hand‑lift, use lift gates, two‑wheelers, or other equipment to move and stack freight ranging from 10–90pounds
- 6+months CDL driving experience
- 1+year experience in food‑service distribution
- Experience with onboard computers and electronic log systems (e.g., People Net)
- Experience with hand‑held point‑of‑delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD)
- Customer service experience
