Staff Accountant

Onsite | $33-$43/hr | Immediate Opening | High-Growth Environment

A rapidly expanding organization in the Houston area is actively seeking a Staff Accountant for an immediate contract engagement with strong potential for permanent hire. This is a high-priority opening driven by increased transaction volume and operational growth.

If you have Oracle Cloud Fusion experience (highly preferred), strong month-end close exposure, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-volume accounting environment, this is a strong opportunity to step into a visible and valued role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support monthly close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial statements
  • Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and account clean-up activity
  • Process and record accruals
    , including utilities, credit card, and other non-PO expenses
  • Review and approve purchase requisition and PO coding
  • Analyze cash flow activity and assist with daily cash reporting
  • Oversee bank reconciliation processes within Oracle Cash Management (in partnership with third-party providers)
  • Support payroll journal entries and partner with payroll on analytics and reporting
  • Maintain documentation aligned with internal controls and audit requirements (SOX environment)
  • Review and distribute P&L and expense reporting to internal stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations to ensure accurate financial data
  • Assist with audit support and financial reporting needs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (
    REQUIRED
    )
  • 1-3+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or corporate accounting preferred)
  • Experience with:
    • Month-end close
    • Account reconciliations & accruals
    • General ledger accounting
    • Financial statement analysis
  • Oracle Cloud Fusion experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with large ERP systems required
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and internal controls
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Compensation & Work Environment
  • $33 - $43/hour (contract)
  • Strong potential for full-time conversion based on performance
  • Fast-paced environment with flexibility and team collaboration
