Job Description
The PT Coordinator I, Student Life is responsible for coordinating general functions in Student Life such as service coordination, purchasing, delivery of materials, events, or resources. The Coordinator may track budget expenditures, assist with special projects, and provide excellent customer service to students, staff, faculty, and community members. This position reports to the Program Manager for Student Life and maintains communication with key student services personnel.
EssentialJob Functions
- Schedules events and meetings; maintains the Student Life activities and special events calendar.
- Assesses student needs across North Harris and other centers to guide event development.
- Coordinates catering, technology, and facilities needs for Student Life events.
- Purchases supplies and promotional specialty items for the Student Life office and student organizations.
- Assists in Student Life budget planning by tracking expenditures and monitoring student organizations' budget tracking process.
- Assists student organizations in completing essential paperwork for travel and event planning.
- Maintains the Student Life website and assists student organizations with advertising events and meetings.
- Promotes and supports the development of student organizations; provides training for members and sponsors.
- Distributes Student Life information, creates promotional flyers, and maintains campus bulletin boards and poster frames.
- Performs other reasonable, related duties as assigned.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and other common office software.
- Exemplary people and communication skills.
- Ability to create and present PowerPoint presentations.
- Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to respond promptly.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships and serve a diverse population.
- Ability to prioritize work and work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
The work is sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving a vehicle. No special physical demands are required.
Work Schedule and Conditions- Workstation: PC with Windows LAN environment, calculator, phone, and other office equipment.
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
- Work performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least one year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hourly Pay Rate: $17.58
