Job OverviewAs a Service Manager with Christian Brothers Automotive, you are the person our guests look to when they need help with their vehicle. You are the person our guests see every time they invest in their vehicle, building relationships and ensuring satisfaction before they leave our facility. The Service Manager has responsibility and authority for all aspects of daily operations, including sales activities, staff management, quality of work, guest satisfaction, revenue, profit margin, and other goals assigned by the Owner.
All office and shop personnel report directly to the Service Manager.
- Manage office and shop personnel and daily operations
- Follow and enforce company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Take corrective and/or disciplinary action for employee non‑compliance
- Ensure quality of work meets or exceeds guest satisfaction goals
- Direct the smooth, orderly, and organized operation of the store
- Maintain a personal positive attitude and positive communication at all times
- Develop estimates and work orders
- Direct Service Writer’s development of guest estimates and work orders and assign them to technicians
- Ensure selection of quality parts and target margins are achieved
- Open and close stores daily
- Perform daily accounting closing and balancing procedures
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations, audits, and report analysis; report results to Franchise Owners or Operators
- Ensure all equipment is fully operational and in good working order
- Provide technicians with necessary resources
- Serve as primary communications interface to customers before, during, and after service
- Greet every guest with enthusiasm and a smile, showing hospitality and the highest level of respect
- Present the best solution to repair the customer’s vehicle in an easily understandable manner
- Consistently and effectively sell services without compromising honesty and integrity
- Represent the organization professionally, projecting honesty and integrity at all times
- Other duties may be assigned
- 5 years of work experience in Automotive Customer Service & Service Sales
- Supervisory or management experience in the Automotive Industry
- Proficiency in Windows‑based computer software and automotive store applications
- Experience with Tek Metric preferred, but not required
- Graduation from an industry‑recognized service training program preferred, but not required
- ASE Service Consultant certification or equivalent experience
- Current driver’s license
- Driving record acceptable to current insurance carrier
- Being on your feet for the majority of the workday (standing, walking, etc.)
- Occasionally lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs.
- Driving manual transmission vehicles
- Maintaining a brisk work pace in a high‑volume environment
- Using a keyboard and mouse several times daily
- Using a standard handset phone several times daily
