Job Description

Supervisor: Project Manager

Position: Construction Laborer (Entry Level)

• Digging, spreading and leveling dirt, sand and gravel using a pick, shovel or rake.
• Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials and work area.
• Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials using hand tools.
• Join, wrap and seal sections of pipe.
• Perform routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench and assembling pipe sections.
• Assist in machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering and assisting in pipe fusing.

• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Less than High School Diploma.

Three or more years related construction experience preferred.

• Heavy physical activity, performing strenuous day-to-day tasks.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.

Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.). The work environment involves exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, loud noise. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities.
