Middle School Religion Teacher / Religion Coordinator
St. Anne Catholic School in Houston, Texas is seeking a responsible, energetic and nurturing individual who has experience in teaching. The position will be under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing Archdiocesan approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes, addressing the educational needs of students, creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment, and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

- Develop and administer school curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize instructional time.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Instruct students in the principles of responsible digital citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system.
- Continually acquire professional knowledge and current developments in education by attending seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or research.
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record‑keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourage parental involvement in students’ education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensure that student conduct conforms to the school’s standards as outlined in the Student & Faculty Handbooks and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
- Coordinate with other staff members to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
- Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids, and other supplies and equipment and maintain inventory records.
- Administer standardized tests in accordance with testing programs.
- Follow COVID protocols set forth by the school’s plan.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, and differentiation of instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents in person, through electronic means, and in writing.
