Assistant Club Manager

Assistant Club Manager – Planet Fitness Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high‑performing staff of Member Service Representatives, Overnight Member Service Representatives, and Fitness Instructors.
• Lead by example, maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, and ensure staff follow superior customer service guidelines.
• Resolve member concerns in a fair and equitable manner.
• Assist with staff management and provide support to the Club Manager with reporting, inventory, and other assigned duties.
• Administer and enforce company policies and procedures with staff and members.
• Perform front‑desk activities, including answering phones, assisting members, checking in members, new member sign‑up, touring, and facilitating member requests, issues, and questions.
• Ensure prompt opening/closing of the gym following proper protocols.
• Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, taking responsibility for the largest section of daily cleaning.
• Ensure safety of employees, members, and club property.
• Determine and communicate equipment repair needs in a timely manner.
• Work at any Planet Fitness location within the Houston Fitness Partners franchise.

• Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Previous work experience at Planet Fitness is a plus.
• Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
• Strong problem‑resolution skills, hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma/GED equivalent preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Willingness to become CPR/AED certified prior to employment and maintain certification while employed.

• Continual standing and walking throughout the club.
• Ability to work 3rd shift (overnight) alone if overnight staff is unavailable.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents.
• Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
• Some bending, twisting, and reaching required to accomplish tasks.
