Operations Manager, EHS / HSE Manager
JDR’s Service Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Shop Supervisor to join the team.
The Service Group is responsible for providing aftermarket service work and to support ancillary products, umbilical, cable and reeler systems. The work scope includes assembly, testing and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and fibre optic systems utilized in JDR's umbilicals, cables, reefers and associated equipment.
The Shop Supervisor plays a vital role in the success of the Service Group by ensuring workshop resource utilization is maximized, work completion schedules are maintained, and safety and quality are kept to the highest standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for managing the daily activities of all Service Technicians
- Responsible for the completion of service work packages on time, on budget and meeting all quality requirements.
- Responsible for maximizing the efficient use of technician resources to complete workshop activities
- Monitors timekeeping activities of all Service Technicians while working in the shop and reviews/approves timesheets for payroll
- Responsible for leading the training of technicians to develop their technical competencies
- Communicates and collaborates with the Operations Manager on project status, resource planning and technician allocation
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of JDR owned equipment ensuring readiness for service in support of completing work scopes both onsite and offsite
- Monitors the availability of tools and materials required to complete the activities of the workshop and works with the Operations Manager to remedy shortages
- Collaborates with QHSE to ensure all documentation and forms are completed fully with the appropriate approvals
- Fully understand drawings, procedures and work instructions to provide technical oversight in the completion of work scopes
- Tracks and completes all paperwork regarding each job on time for invoicing
- Ensure that all the Service Team complies with and all work is completed with safety as a priority
- Ensure departmental compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards
- Supports, trains, understands, follows and is aware of the Company initiatives to gain and retain ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHA 18001 accreditations
The role requires a capable and adaptable supervisor who can effectively motivate, develop, and manage people while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and inspection expertise are essential, including the ability to interpret complex specifications and industry codes and ensure accurate documentation.
The position also demands confident use of industry software and Microsoft Office, clear communication skills, effective time management, and the flexibility to respond to changing operational demands.
Candidates will ideally have operational experience in the Oil and Gas industry, supported with proven leadership experience in managing teams or projects. They must be able to obtain and maintain all required offshore and medical certifications and hold a valid passport and driving licence.
