Job Summary And Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing individualized, age specific, goal directed care. The RN assesses the needs of the patient/client in order to develop a plan of care and then implements and evaluates the plan. The RN bases the plan of care on current nursing knowledge/skills and institutional methodology. The RN accepts assignments that are commensurate with his/her experience, knowledge and ability.

The RN delegates tasks to the licensed and unlicensed personnel according to the Texas Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy.

What you will do in this role
  • Performs comprehensive nursing assessments of health status of patients
  • Formulates a nursing care plan based on determination of nursing diagnoses
  • Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice
  • Develops and implements teaching plans for patients concerning promotion, maintenance and restoration of health
  • Provides for care of multiple patients either through direct care or appropriate delegation to other team members
  • Utilize critical thinking approach to all nursing activities
  • Participates in continuing education and in-service training in order to maintain current nursing knowledge/skills to perform job responsibilities
Qualifications you will need
  • Graduate of approved and accredited nursing program
  • ADN minimum requirement, Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Current RN Licensure in the State of Texas
  • Current BCLS certification required
  • ACLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • NRP certification within 30 days of hire
  • 1 + years of Mother/Baby experience required
