Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse is responsible for providing individualized, age‑specific, goal‑directed care. The RN assesses the needs of the patient/client in order to develop a plan of care, implements and evaluates the plan, bases the plan on current nursing knowledge and institutional methodology, accepts assignments that are commensurate with experience, and delegates tasks in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments of patients’ health status
- Formulate a nursing care plan based on determination of nursing diagnoses
- Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice
- Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health
- Provide care for multiple patients either through direct care or appropriate delegation to other team members
- Utilize critical thinking in all nursing activities
- Participate in continuing education and in‑service training to maintain current nursing knowledge and skills
- Graduate of an approved and accredited nursing program
- ADN minimum requirement;
Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred - Current RN licensure in the State of Texas
- Current BCLS certification required
- ACLS certification within 30 days of hire
- NRP certification within 30 days of hire
- 1+ years of Mother/Baby experience required
