Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse; RN - Tomball, Tx

Overview

Texas Oncology is hiring an Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) for its Tomball, Texas location. The role is Monday‑Friday with no weekend, holiday, or call duties. The position may be a Level I, Level II, or Senior based on experience.

Location

Tomball, Texas – a community 30 miles northwest of Houston offering advanced cancer care within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care in accordance with established standards.
  • Assess patient health status through interview and review of medical history.
  • Identify patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage medication refill requests and document them in the patient chart.
  • Schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments.
  • Triage patient phone calls and record relevant information in the patient chart.
  • Act as a liaison between patient/family and interdisciplinary team to coordinate related services.
  • Assist patients in locating community resources.
• Inter‑professional collaboration.
  • Serve as a resource for LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications

Education/Training

All levels require:

• Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Active RN state license in a practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ongoing continuing education.

Level I

• 0‑3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.

Level II

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.

Level Senior

• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
• Oncology certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

The role requires full body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Occasionally items up to 40 lbs may be lifted. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required.

Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)
