Position: Pawn Shop Sales Associate — Commission & Benefits

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates for our pawn store locations nationwide. A Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to provide customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role includes greeting, engaging, and interacting with customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions. Associates work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations) and more.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, stocked sales floor and displays merchandise.
  • Processes sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Answers incoming calls according to company standards.
  • Effectively communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
  • Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Successfully completes the assigned training.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods of time, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting, in accordance with federal, state, and local law.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • May assist a customer on the exterior of the building or retrieve products stored in exterior storage buildings or other areas.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Familiarity with a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate and able to operate Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
Benefits & Compensation

Hourly wage ranging from $10.00 to $14.00 per hour. Commission up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $5.90 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Additional benefits include:

Commission

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Additional details about the commission incentive plan are provided during the interview process.
