The organization is seeking a driven and technically strong Business Development Manager
- Electrical Switchgear & Transformers to join its expanding team. This role focuses on generating new business, managing key accounts, and closing sales for low-, medium-, and high-voltage switch gear, transformers, VFD drive systems
, and related power distribution equipment. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical product knowledge with strong sales and relationship-building skills to drive revenue across industrial, utility, oil & gas, and construction sectors.
- Develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients, including industrial plants, EPCs, utilities, consultants, and contractors.
- Understand customer technical needs and recommend appropriate switch gear, transformer, and VFD system solutions
. - Conduct technical presentations, product demos, and solution overviews to support the sales process.
- Collaborate with engineering, PM, and production teams to support quotation accuracy and ensure timely delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contracts to close new business.
- Track opportunities, manage pipeline, and update CRM records regularly.
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry networking events.
- Stay informed about industry standards (IEC, ANSI, UL), market trends, and competitor activity.
- Support internal teams during project execution to ensure seamless delivery and post-sales satisfaction.
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Experience interacting with EPCs, utilities, contractors, and engineering consultants
. - Familiarity with AutoCAD, SAP, or switch gear/transformer design tools.
- Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, ANSI, IEC standards.
- Willingness to travel 30–50% across the Houston region or beyond.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in selling electrical power distribution equipment
, with strong preference for backgrounds in switch gear, MCCs, transformers, or VFD systems
. - Mandatory: Hands‑on experience with transformer products (distribution transformers, power transformers, dry‑type or oil‑filled).
- Technical knowledge of LV/MV/HV switch gear, VFD systems, protection relays, breakers, and electrical distribution equipment.
- Demonstrated success in account management and achieving sales targets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer‑facing skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
