What can you expect?As the Concrete Finisher, you will work onsite in Houston, TX and surrounding areas and will be responsible for finishing concrete surfaces, such as floors, walls, sidewalks, and driveways. In this position you will use a variety of tools and techniques to ensure the concrete is smooth, level, and free of imperfections.
How will you do it?- Prepare the area before pouring concrete, such as setting up forms and installing rebar.
- Pour and spread the concrete evenly.
- Use tools such as trowels, screeds, and floats to smooth and level the concrete.
- Add texture or patterns to the concrete surface if the contract specifies.
- Apply sealants or other coatings to protect the concrete and enhance its appearance.
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
- Repair and patch damaged or uneven concrete surfaces.
- Operate equipment, such as concrete saws or grinders, to cut or shape the concrete.
- Monitor the effects of the weather on the curing process.
- Comply with all safety requirements and participate in safety meetings.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
- Review daily task assignments and clarify any material needs with the supervisor.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as directed.
