Position summary

Residential Electrician / Service Professional (minimum 3 years residential experience). Deliver excellent customer experiences, complete residential service work independently, and maximize opportunities while maintaining industry-leading quality standards.

Minimum qualifications
  • 3+ years residential electrical experience.
  • Licensed:
    Wireman accepted;
    Journeyman preferred. Apprentices considered if approximately 3,500 signed‑off hours complete.
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation (company take‑home van provided).
  • Participate in on‑call rotation (primary/secondary system; primary gets one weekday off during the week).
Top 5 service calls
  • Breaker panel upgrades and replacement — main lug and main breaker panels, single‑ and sub‑panel installs, meter‑to‑panel work.
  • Lighting and receptacle troubleshooting/repairs — LED conversions, dimmer installs, GFCI/AFCI replacements.
  • Ceiling fan installs and junction box upgrades — modern smart fans and traditional fans, secure mounting.
  • EV charger circuit installs and 240V appliance circuits — NEMA 14‑50 / 6‑50, dedicated circuits for dryers, ranges, and EV chargers.
  • Troubleshooting intermittent faults and wiring diagnosis — multimeter diagnostics, tracing neutrals, fixing shared neutrals and neutral‑ground issues.
Day 1 — what you must be able to do independently
  • Safely diagnose and complete basic service calls: replace breakers, GFCI/AFCI, receptacles, lighting, ceiling fans, and perform basic panel work with supervision available.
  • Use multimeter, basic contractor tools, and mobile dispatch/CRM app.
  • Communicate professionally with customers; close tickets and document work in the system.
Expectations & performance
  • Customer‑first mindset: quality and satisfaction drive all goals.
  • Maximize opportunities: identify and educate customers on safe, code‑compliant upgrades.
  • Productivity KPI: growing year‑over‑year revenue (team currently +20% YoY).
  • Complete 1‑month structured training program (field trainer promoted from our team).
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and occasional weekend make‑up if calling in sick.
  • Track time accurately — target 40 hours/week (average currently 34); work‑life balance encouraged.
Onboarding & development
  • 1‑month formal training with our promoted field trainer plus ongoing mentoring.
  • Transparent “Business 101” coaching on running jobs and maximizing pay.
  • Clear pathway to team leader and Branch Manager roles; leadership development and recruiting support available.
Compensation & perks
  • Competitive pay: base hourly rate OR commission — whichever is higher. Average annual income: $80,000‑$100,000.
  • $3,000 Hiring Bonus.
  • Vacation and PTO based on licensed hourly rate.

Work hours, timekeeping & travel
  • Workday begins at the office for scheduled events or to pick up material/equipment, or at the first job site each day.
  • Workday ends upon leaving the last job site (or leaving the supply house/office if picking up materials for sold work).
  • SPs are required to travel to work and travel from work as part of their day.
  • Required 30‑minute unpaid lunch break each day.
  • Time must be accurately recorded per company policy.
Tools, technology & vehicle
  • Company take‑home van provided.
  • Company uses mobile dispatch/CRM and standard electrical contractor tools (bring basic hand tools; company provides specialty tools as needed).
