What You’ll Do as a Diesel Engine Mechanic- Diagnose and perform critical repairs on Caterpillar diesel and natural gas engines and generator sets.
- Perform routine maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and rebuilds.
- Remove, install, disassemble, and recondition Caterpillar power units and generator sets.
- Conduct system testing, adjustments, and failure analysis.
- Troubleshoot electronic, hydraulic, and fuel system components.
- Deliver quality work in a fast‑paced shop environment.
- Must own the tools required to perform repairs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s degree or technical school certificate preferred.
- Previous mechanic or military experience.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar power units, generator systems, and fuel systems.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electronic, and engine systems.
- Ability to perform diagnostics, repairs, and technical troubleshooting independently.
