Job Description

Primary

Purpose:

Maintain safe, clean, and properly functioning swimming pool facilities by performing routine maintenance, water testing, chemical balancing, and equipment repairs to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License (or ability to obtain)
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred or required within a specified timeframe
  • One (1) year of experience in pool maintenance, water treatment, or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of pool chemistry, filtration systems, and water treatment procedures
  • Ability to safely handle and store pool chemicals
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety data sheets
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform daily inspection of pool facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety
  • Test and maintain proper chemical levels in pool water in accordance with local and state regulations
  • Clean pools, decks, filters, and related equipment
  • Operate and maintain pool pumps, filtration systems, heaters, and chemical feeders
  • Identify and report maintenance needs and perform minor repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of chemical usage, maintenance, and inspections
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Assist with opening and closing pools for seasonal use
  • Respond to emergency situations as needed
Equipment Used

Pool testing kits, chemical feeders, pumps, filtration systems, vacuums, hand and power tools, pressure washers, and standard maintenance equipment.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands: Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying—over 45 pounds. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Responsibilities of the position can require irregular work hours.

Environment: Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; work with high-temperature and low-temperature equipment; work with high-pressure equipment; work with high-voltage equipment; and work in confined spaces.
