This role focuses on building, modifying, and upgrading electrical switch gear and control panels that support both the oil and gas industry and an expanding data center business. You will perform hands-on wiring, panel upgrades, and electrical modifications while interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics to ensure high-quality, reliable installations.
Responsibilities- Modify surplus electrical switch gear to meet custom specifications and project requirements.
- Upgrade electrical panels and panel housings, including replacing or reconfiguring components as needed.
- Install and add AC power and lighting systems when required by project scope.
- Install and route conduit to support power distribution and control wiring.
- Perform controls wiring for control panels and related equipment, ensuring accurate terminations and labeling.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics to complete wiring and assembly tasks correctly.
- Assemble and wire electrical panels, switch gear, and control systems using appropriate hand tools and equipment.
- Perform electrical modifications on existing equipment and modular buildings to meet updated design or operational needs.
- Follow production plans and schedules to complete panel building and wiring tasks on time.
- Inspect and test completed assemblies for proper function, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment safely.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve wiring or assembly issues and ensure project success.
- At least 2+ years of wiring experience in an electrical or panel-building environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Hands-on experience with electrical modifications on panels, switch gear, or modular equipment.
- Proficiency in controls wiring and control panel assembly.
- Demonstrated skill in panel wiring, panel building, and electrical assembly.
- Experience working with switch gear and related electrical equipment.
- Ability to install and route conduit for power and control circuits.
- Competence using hand tools commonly used in electrical assembly and production work.
- Strong blueprint and schematic reading skills to guide accurate wiring and assembly.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions and production standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of wiring experience on custom control systems is highly preferred.
- Experience making various electrical and structural modifications to modular buildings.
- Background in production environments involving electrical assembly and panel wiring.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving project requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot wiring issues and make corrections with minimal supervision.

WorkEnvironment
This is a full-time, on-site role in a production and assembly environment focused on electrical switch gear, control panels, and modular building modifications. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the potential to work until 6:00 p.m. as needed to meet project deadlines. You will work with electrical components, switch gear, control panels, conduit, and related equipment, using a variety of hand tools to complete wiring and assembly tasks.
Employees are expected to bring and use their own tools. The environment supports both oil and gas projects and data center-related work, providing exposure to a range of industrial and commercial applications.
This is a Contract position based out of Tomball, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
