Primary
Purpose:
Assist in the efficient operation of the Maintenance & Facilities warehouse by receiving, storing, distributing, and delivering district equipment, materials, furniture, and supplies while providing quality customer service to campuses and departments.
Minimum
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Texas Driver's License (or ability to obtain)
Minimum Experience:
- Warehouse, delivery, moving, or material handling experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment (or ability to obtain training).
- Basic knowledge of warehouse organization and inventory practices.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and transport heavy materials and equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Receive, unload, inspect, and store district equipment, furniture, materials, and supplies.
- Deliver furniture, equipment, textbooks, and other materials to campuses and district facilities.
- Assist with district event setups, relocations, and takedowns.
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with inventory control, fixed asset management, and warehouse organization.
- Prepare surplus property for auction, transfer, or disposal in accordance with district procedures.
- Assemble furniture and perform minor repairs as assigned.
- Load, unload, and secure materials for transportation.
- Maintain warehouse equipment, vehicles, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Follow district safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provide courteous and professional service to all campuses, departments, vendors, and visitors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, box trucks, dollies, ladders, hand and power tools, scanners, warehouse equipment, and standard maintenance equipment.
Working ConditionsPhysical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials weighing over 50 pounds. Frequent loading and unloading of furniture, equipment, and supplies. Responsibilities of the position may require irregular work hours.
Environment: Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Exposure to heat, cold, humidity, dust, moving equipment, loading docks, warehouses, and uneven walking surfaces. May work independently or as part of a team while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
