Manager, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting

Our client, a publicly traded AI company, is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to lead key external reporting and technical accounting activities.

This role is hybrid, with in-office expectations of 1-3 days per week in the San Francisco Peninsula area.

This highly visible role will oversee regulatory filings, evaluate complex transactions, and partner with Finance, Legal, FP&A, Investor Relations, and external auditors. The ideal candidate brings strong public-company reporting experience, deep technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Manage internal and external financial reporting, including regulatory filings, leadership reporting packages, and related supporting schedules
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, disclosures, and management reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Draft disclosures and supporting documentation for complex and non-routine accounting matters
• Monitor new accounting standards, evaluate their impact, and lead related implementation and process changes
• Research complex accounting issues and prepare clear, well-supported technical accounting memoranda
• Evaluate accounting matters involving acquisitions, debt, impairments, restructuring, investments, consolidations, equity compensation, and leases
• Coordinate multiple reporting and technical accounting work streams to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time
• Partner with internal teams, legal counsel, and external auditors to support complete and accurate financial reporting
• Develop and improve accounting policies, reporting procedures, internal controls, and compliance processes
• Manage and develop a financial reporting team member while supporting special projects and process improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and public-company industry experience
• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing SEC filings, financial statements, disclosures, and related reporting documentation
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and complex transaction research
• Excellent project management, analytical, written communication, and stakeholder-partnering skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines independently
