Youth Development Director, Alpha

When a child falls behind, most elementary schools reduce expectations. You do the opposite. You believe six-year-olds are capable of significantly more than conventional classrooms demand, and you have used measurable evidence to demonstrate that belief repeatedly.

Alpha operates on a two-hour learning framework. In the morning, adaptive applications handle academic instruction, freeing your schedule for the interventions that genuinely transform young lives: motivation, life skills development, coaching, and accountability systems. You directly oversee a cohort of K‑3 students while simultaneously coaching the Guides—Alpha's term for the adults who mentor and inspire children—who drive their daily growth. Your work remains hands‑on each day, not administrative oversight from a separate office.

Your typical day rotates through three core activities. You analyze performance metrics and Coachbot data to identify which students and Guides need intervention. You conduct coaching sessions that conclude with concrete next actions rather than generalized praise. And you command the focus of a room filled with five‑ to nine‑year‑olds during workshops covering public speaking, concentration, or feedback exchange.

When you identify effective methods, you document them. The frameworks you create establish the baseline every other Guide replicates, expanding your influence from a single cohort to the entire grade level. Demonstrating your ability to scale that quality is the pathway to greater leadership responsibility here.

• Coaching both Guides and students through performance metrics, classroom observation, and targeted feedback, then enforcing accountability to quantifiable objectives for each group
• Leading one‑hour live workshops for K‑3 students focused on life skills including public speaking, concentration, teamwork, resilience, accountability, and constructive feedback exchange
• Conducting individual and small‑group sessions that link each child’s personal goals and interests to tangible academic advancement
• Developing and iterating on playbooks that convert your most effective practices into standardized systems other Guides can apply reliably
• Training Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating exemplary facilitation so quality standards persist as the team expands

• Providing academic instruction or presenting lectures from the front of the classroom; adaptive software handles content delivery while you focus on coaching people
• Reducing expectations when students encounter difficulty
• Managing remotely in the manner of instructional coaches and school principals; you remain integrated with your own cohort every day
• Managing the entire campus’s finances, operations, and family engagement; a Campus Lead handles those responsibilities so you can concentrate on student and Guide results
• Advocating for conventional teaching practices or implementing a standard K‑12 curriculum

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or a closely related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years working directly with elementary‑aged children (approximately ages 5 to
  9)
• Track record leading a team of at least 5 individuals, with authority to make hiring and termination decisions based on performance results
