Qualifications:

  • Meets oneof the following expectations :
    Passed theParaPro test,holds an Associates Degree, has 60 college credits, a su b stitute certification,or i s a Registered Behavior Technician.
  • ValidU.S. Driver'sLicenseand/orStateI.D.
  • Demonstrates skillin both written and oral communications and human relations.
  • Successfully completes required criminal history check and hasproofof U.S.Citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  • Demonstrateaptitudefortheworktobeperformed .
  • Proper background, character,disposition, and t emperament toworkwithand/oraround children.

Reportsto: Classroom Teacher/BCBA/Building Principal and/ or designated administrator

Job Expectation: Under the direction and supervision of the certified classroom teacher, principalorotherdesignated certified personnel,assistsfacultymembers in the in struction of students and in facilitating students' learning activities sothat they attain the established curriculum goals adopted by the Mullica Township Board of Education.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Instruction
    • Assiststheclassroom t eacher in thedeliveryofan effective instructional program.
    • Workswithindividualstudentsor sma ll groupsof students toreinforcethe learning of information or skills initially introduced by the teacher .
    • Assists teachers and/or students in the participation of small group instruction, exploratory learning, and independent work,providing intervention and support as needed or required.
    • Operates andcares for equipment usedin th e classroomforinstructional purposes .
    • Helpsstudentsmasterequipment or instructional materials assignedbythe classroom teacher .

2. Instructional Management

  • Assists the tea cher in designing strateg ie s toreinforceknowledge orskills which meetthe individual needsof students.
  • Assists the teacher in maintaining an inventory, organizing educational materials , preparing instructional documents, andotheractivities which facilitate the educational program.
  • Processes student paperwork in accordance with directions of the teacher .
  • Assists the teacherin organizing theclassroomforinstruction.

3.Student Management

  • Supports the teacher in maintaining a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate totheneeds and interests of the students.
  • Maintainsstudentconductinsituationsassignedbytheprincipalinaccordance withthecontractualagreement.
  • Maintains data collection, supports behavior plans, and the carryover ofskills from related services opportunities.
  • Supports studentsintheareasofpersonalhygiene,including toileting, and the like .

4.Professional Development

  • Strives to maintain and enhance professional competence through professionalreadingas well as participation in workshops, conferences and appropriate staff development programs in accordance with district guidelines .
  • Attends staff meetings as required by contract.
  • Openly receives feedback andworks toapply the feedback in an ongoing, professional manner.

5.Professionalism

  • Cooperates and sharesprofessionallywith other members ofthe staff.
  • Maintains confidentialityaboutstudents in accordance with state and federal law aswell as district policy.
  • Attends work regularly,is punctual , andconscientiousof returningfrombreaks in a timely manner.

6.Other

  • Performs such other tasks and assumessuchotherresponsibilitiesas assigned by administration.

Terms of Employment: Ten month employee . Salaries, benefits, leave time , and conditions specified in the negotiated Agr eemen tbetween theMulica

Township Boardof Education and the Mullica Township Education Association.

Evaluation: Performance ofthisjob will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of t he Board's policy on Employee Evaluation.
