About Your RoleThe Collateral Management Senior Tax and Insurance Associate position provides support to the Collateral Management Supervisor in quality control. Leads responsibility to monitor that all escrowed items are tracked and paid in a timely manner and that all non‑escrowed accounts are tracked to protect the Bank’s interest and are processed in accordance with Bank and investor guidelines. The Collateral Management Senior Tax and Insurance Associate will make themselves available to assist both internal and external customers with questions concerning tax and insurance issues and assist with projects as needed.
WhatYou Will Do
- Assist team members with internal and external inquiries and problems involving the current status of real estate tax and insurance records.
- Coach the team to meet and exceed service levels, ensure operational excellence, and create an exceptional customer experience.
- Monitor and review the processes to make sure that real estate taxes and insurance premiums are paid timely.
- Assist with the annual analysis of all escrow accounts to ensure adequate payments are received from borrowers to satisfy real estate tax and insurance billings.
- Assist with reviews for completeness of collateral and escrow data maintained on the core system and data records tracked by third‑party vendors used by collateral management team.
- Monitor third‑party insurance and tax vendor processes and report to verify escrowed and non‑escrowed accounts are being tracked in compliance with performance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform reconciliations between vendor records and core system to ensure all accounts are accurately tracked and discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
- Perform reviews of department processes to ensure optimal efficiency and ensure procedures are reflective of current practices.
- Keep current knowledge of all related systems including but not limited to the core banking system, tax tracking, insurance tracking, loan origination and collateral tracking systems used by the Collateral Management Team.
- Review and perform updates to procedures to ensure they are in compliance with regulations and are reflective of current practices.
- Assist the Collateral Management Supervisor with gathering of information for audits and loan sales as requested.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations governing the banking industry, as well as employment and labor laws, agency guidelines and organization policies.
- Perform duties to become cross‑trained to assist in other areas of collateral management including collateral releases, payoff quotes, UCC continuations and terminations.
- Understand the compliance requirements for Loan Operations to ensure files are maintained in accordance with regulations.
- Assist with conversions, mergers and other special projects.
- Strong familiarity with concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow industry field.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage various assignments simultaneously and meet required deadlines.
- Computer proficiency in Bank systems, MS Office Suite, and loan operation programs.
- Strong analytical ability with superior aptitude for figures.
