Job Overview

The General Maintenance Trade Mechanic - Lead Painter cleans, scrapes, sands, and repairs walls, ceilings, and exteriors throughout the hospital, including removal of stray paint, scraps, and finishing.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Previous experience with spackling and painting
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to fifty pounds
  • Attention to detail and good color sense
  • Strong time management and communication skills

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma/GED
Scheduling Requirements
  • Full Time
  • Day Shift - 7:00am-3:30pm
Essential Functions
  • Surface Preparation:
    Clean, scrape, sand, and repair walls, ceilings, and exteriors; fill cracks with putty or plaster; apply primers and sealers.
  • Protection:
    Cover floors, furniture, fixtures, and landscaping with tarps and tape.
  • Application:
    Mix paints and stains to match colors and apply finishes with brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
  • Equipment:
    Set up and use ladders, scaffolding, and lifts; maintain tools and spray equipment.
  • Client Interaction:
    Discuss project needs, color choices, and deadlines with property owners or managers.
  • Estimating:
    Calculate material quantities and time needed for jobs.
  • Safety:
    Adhere to safety protocols, use protective gear (like respirators), and manage fumes.
  • Cleanup:
    Clean tools, remove protective coverings, and restore the work area.
