The Mogul Lead (PIM Level
7) serves as the frontline operational leader for the Processing and Mogul manufacturing area and is responsible for overseeing daily production activities across the entire manufacturing process from Kitchen through Shakeout. This position provides direct floor leadership, operational coordination, and performance oversight for all processing functions, including Cooking, Batch Making, Trucking, Mogul Operations, Pickout, Shakeout, and associated support activities.
The Mogul Lead is accountable for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of production plans while maintaining the highest standards of safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and operational discipline. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between departments and functions to ensure seamless communication, effective resource utilization, and uninterrupted business operations.
As the first level of leadership within the Processing organization, the Mogul Lead establishes daily performance expectations, reinforces standard work, coaches and develops team members, drives accountability, and promotes a culture of operational excellence. This role maintains a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and serves as the primary escalation point for operational concerns affecting production, quality, safety, staffing, scheduling, equipment performance, and material flow.
The Mogul Lead works closely with Operations Leadership, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Sanitation, Warehouse, Planning, and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure production objectives are achieved and sustainable performance improvements are implemented across the department.
Duties And Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Floor Management- Provide daily leadership and direction for all Processing operations, including Kitchen, Batch Making, Trucking, Mogul Operations, Pickout, Curing, and Shakeout.
- Maintain ownership of daily floor execution and ensure production schedules are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Establish clear expectations and priorities for processing personnel throughout the shift.
- Monitor production flow and coordinate resources to maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Ensure proper staffing, coverage, and deployment of personnel based on operational needs.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for production issues, operational disruptions, and manufacturing challenges.
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor and provide hands‑on leadership throughout the shift.
- Promote and reinforce a culture where safety is the highest operational priority.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, GMPs, HACCP, SQF, food safety requirements, sanitation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine safety observations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Investigate and elevate safety, food safety, and compliance concerns as necessary.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance initiatives.
- Hold team members accountable for following established procedures, policies, and safety standards.
- Drive achievement of key performance metrics including throughput, schedule attainment, labor efficiency, quality, waste reduction, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
