The Recruitment & Outreach Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing strategic recruitment and outreach efforts to support enrollment, participation, and completion of Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant (SCC5) funded workforce training programs at Ocean County College.
This position is responsible for building relationships with healthcare employers, community-based organizations, nonprofits, workforce agencies, and business and industry associations to expand access to industry-recognized credentials and career pathways.
The position reports to the SCC5 Project Manager and works closely with the SCC5 Healthcare Career Coordinator to support coordinated outreach, enrollment, and employer engagement activities aligned with grant objectives.
This position is grant-funded. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement outreach and recruitment strategies aligned with SCC5 grant goals and healthcare workforce pathways.Conduct outreach to healthcare employers, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and allied health providers.Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, nonprofits, adult education providers, business and industry associations, and the local Workforce Development Board.Represent SCC5 at community events, career fairs, employer meetings, workforce convenings, and information sessions.Collaborate with the SCC5 Project Manager on employer engagement strategy and grant deliverables.Work closely with the SCC5 Healthcare Career Coordinator to support participant outreach, eligibility screening, referrals and collaborate with admissions, advising, and student support services to streamline participant intake and enrollment.Coordinate employer outreach to support participant recruitment, work-based learning, and job placement opportunities.Collaborate with internal college departments to support a seamless participant experience from outreach through program completion.Support outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating events, materials, and communications in collaboration with College Relations.Assist with planning and implementation of Business and Industry Leadership Team (BILT) meetings, employer panels, industry-specific events, job fairs, and healthcare career pathway activities.Draft, edit and format grant-related updates, internal memos, and website content as requested.Track and maintain outreach and engagement data in accordance with grant requirements in AGS Prime System and other CRM systems.Prepare outreach and activity reports as required by the SCC5 Project Manager.Perform other duties as assigned in support of the SCC5 grant objectives.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marketing, Education, Workforce Development, Public Administration, or related field.In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associates’ degree or completion of sixty college credits with one additional year of experience may be accepted.Two years of experience in outreach, recruitment, employer engagement, or workforce development.Strong relationship-building, communication, and public speaking skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based collaboration and data management tools.Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.Ability to travel within and out of state for conferences and events.Ability to work in evening and occasionally on weekends for outreach activities and events.Experience managing multiple tasks with competing deadlines in a team-based and/or independent environment.Knowledge of recruitment strategies and outreach methodologies.Experience supporting federal or state grant-funded initiatives.Familiarity with higher education or workforce development systems.Bilingual or multilingual communication skills a plus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
