• Provide nursing care in the Surgical ICU within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe physical examinations, administer medications, and provide wound care.
• Communicate with families to provide updates and participate in medical decision-making as appropriate.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and demonstrate flexibility in life-or-death situations.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and supervise/delegate tasks to appropriate team members.
• Uphold safety, ethical standards, and evidence-based practices; identify and report safety issues and medical errors.
• Set and evaluate priorities with measurable outcomes toward patient care improvement.

Required:

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills

Certifications and Licenses

Required:

• BLS certification
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Preferred:

• BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire

• Provide patient care under the supervision of doctors; perform routine ICU nursing duties.
• Assess patients, administer medications, and provide wound care.
• Interact with families to provide updates and support decision-making.
• Respond to emergencies, maintain flexibility for overtime or irregular shifts.
• Report safety issues and medical errors; ensure knowledge of patient population served.
• Supervise and direct task delegation to team members; collaborate with other care providers.
• Utilize the nursing process to deliver individualized care and manage care plans with measurable outcomes.
