Job OverviewRWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for the MICU at Community Medical Center.
Community Medical Center is a 592‑bed, fully accredited acute care hospital offering world‑class medical treatment with the comforts of hometown care.
Required Qualifications- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- BLS certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
- Night shift, Per Diem
- ICU nurses play a key role in providing patient care under the supervision of doctors.
- They routinely perform head‑to‑toe physical examinations of patients, administer medication and provide wound care.
- ICU nurses interact with families to provide updates on their patient’s condition and seek medical decisions.
- ICU nurses often have to react quickly to emergency situations and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in life‑or‑death situations.
- They are sometimes called on to work overtime or to take irregular shifts.
- The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence‑based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available.
- The Registered Nurse is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (e.g., damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.
- The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served.
- The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
- The Registered Nurse is responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- The Registered Nurse is an individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs.
