Position: Advance Practice Nurse (Toms River)

Position Summary

In collaboration with the Attending Physicians, the Nurse Practitioner will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients in DSP outpatient practice and inpatient practice. They will work with a team of providers, including cardiologists, nurses and technicians to evaluate and manage patients to help ensure excellent patient care and satisfaction.

Experience
  • Required:

    At least 1 year experience in critical care or telemetry inpatient care.
  • Preferred:
    Cardiology experience, either as Advanced Practice Provider or in Nursing. Orientation will be customized based on experience.
Education
  • Required:

    Masters degree or greater. Graduate from an ANA accredited School of Nursing.
License and Credentials
  • Required:

    Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Certification through a specialty association. Current BLS, ACLS, CDS and DEA licenses required. Approval of credentials and clinical privileges per DSP procedure.
  • Additional required certifications:
    Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Practice Nurse, Basic Life Support CPR, Control Danger Substances, DEA License (Federal), Registered Professional Nurse.
Skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and database management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; computer proficiency; well-organized, detail oriented and multitasking.
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to ensure patient and staff needs are addressed/documented in a timely manner.
  • Maintain required continuing education credits: current and completes required education for nurse practitioner recertification of 20 hours of category 1 contact hour per year. 50% of the overall credits per 5 years must be from an ANCC provider.
Hours and Compensation

Full-time 80 hours per pay period. Minimum starting salary $115k-$145k. Base rate may consider experience, education, credentials, and internal equity.
