Licensed Practical Nurse
The LPN is expected to perform all duties within the scope of their license; however, completed work may require routine or detailed higher-level review depending upon the complexity of the duties involved. The LPN shall function within the limits of educational preparation and experience, function in promotion of and in the maintenance of good health, aid in preventing disease and disability, care for and rehabilitate individuals who are experiencing an altered state of health and contribute to the ultimate quality of life until death.
Considering unique patient preferences, the applicable standard of care and legal considerations, the LPN uses a clinical problem-solving process (the nursing process) to collect and organize relevant health care data, assist in the identification of the health needs/problems throughout the patient's life span and contribute to the interdisciplinary team in a variety of settings. The LPN performs basic tasks under close supervision of the Nurse Manager or designee.
The LPN may perform other related duties as assigned which are appropriate for this grade and assignment.
