Project Manager

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with appropriate method selection and offer technical guidance.
  • Prepare project‑specific reports.
  • Represent ALS at all project meetings.
  • Prioritize and monitor projects.
  • Conduct day‑to‑day client communication.
  • Coordinate project sampling duties.
  • Follow all company operating procedures, standards, policies, and training to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site.
  • Play an active role in the ALS safety program by correcting or reporting unsafe acts and conditions observed during day‑to‑day operations, creating a zero‑injury work environment.
  • Participate in and support HSE initiatives as required by ALS leadership.
  • Understand and use HSE precautions (e.g., fume hoods, PPE) while working with chemicals and samples of unknown hazards.
  • Ensure the health and safety of staff, contractors, and/or visitors by providing appropriate leadership, resources, training, and enforcement.
  • Monitor and enforce health, safety and environment policies, procedures, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Actively promote awareness of policies, procedures, and regulations among company personnel.
  • Lead by example, report all personal injuries and incidents, and assist with investigations as per company policy.
  • Ensure company sites adhere to all environmental requirements as determined by government legislation, regulation, and company policy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of laboratory experience preferred.
  • 0–5 years of project management experience preferred.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to initiate corrective action without prompting and assist co‑workers whenever necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively perform duties under pressures arising from large sample volumes and short turn‑around times.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn using a Laboratory Information Management System.
  • Adherence to safety policies and practices.
  • Eligibility:
    Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the country applying, or hold/obtain a valid working visa.
Working Conditions

Must be able to work on a computer while sitting for up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to lift (with both hands) and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier loads with assistance. Must be able to stand, bend, push, pull, stoop, and crouch up to 50% of the time while performing the duties of this position.
