Job Description

Job Description

A day in the life

You start your shift by syncing with Operations, Continuous Improvement, and Engineering to review any overnight non-conformances. A production event pops up—per SOPs, you outline the plan of action for floor inspectors, launch a structured investigation, and document findings. Before lunch, you meet with QSS team members and the Skills and Knowledge department to refine a training assessment, analyze test data, and target follow-ups.

In the afternoon, you facilitate MRP Solutions Commitments and Effectiveness Checks—initiating, tracking, trending, and closing actions—while keeping the Quality Manager in the loop. You round out your day leading a quick 5S blitz, consulting with a supplier on spec alignment, and performing hands‑on inspections and SPC checks.

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports to: Quality Supervisor; works closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and the broader Operations team.

What you will do
  • Partner with Operations, Continuous Improvement, and Engineering to resolve product quality issues—reacting quickly, investigating thoroughly, and following up on non-conformance through closure.
  • Provide floor-level guidance to quality inspectors when production events occur per SOPs; lead investigations of non‑compliant issues in strict accordance with documented procedures.
  • Author and maintain quality system documents as assigned by Quality Management.

  • Communicate progress and status effectively to the Quality Manager and cross‑functional partners.
  • Execute inspection and containment activities, perform SPC duties, and complete other tasks as assigned.
Skills & experience
  • 3+ years in a related industry or discipline is beneficial; at least six months of parts inspection/auditing experience is desired.
  • Foundational knowledge of quality principles and practices.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to make decisions under the guidance of the Quality Supervisor/ISO and the Food Safety Facilitator.
  • Basic IQMS navigation skills (training provided as needed).
  • Professional, composed, and collaborative in all settings.
  • Comfort with gauge measurements (training provided).
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word is beneficial.

Safety responsibilities
  • Contribute to a culture where unsafe conditions/behaviors are addressed, improvement ideas are offered, and solutions are implemented.
  • Identify safety gaps and initiate corrective actions proactively.
  • Adhere strictly to plant safety, housekeeping, and 5S standards.
  • Recognize and correct safety hazards.
  • Promote a culture of ownership so teammates understand and embrace their responsibilities.
