R&D Lab Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Lab Technician to support laboratory testing and quality control activities within a food manufacturing environment. The Lab Technician will be responsible for conducting shelf-life studies, collecting and preparing product samples, performing pH and analytical testing, maintaining accurate laboratory records, compiling and reviewing test data, and coordinating the shipment of samples to external laboratories.

• Conduct and maintain shelf-life studies on food products according to established protocols and testing schedules.
• Pull, identify, label, and organize product samples from production and storage locations.
• Perform routine pH testing and other analytical laboratory tests as required.
• Prepare samples, reagents, and laboratory materials for testing.
• Conduct physical, chemical, and/or microbiological testing in accordance with established procedures, as applicable.
• Accurately record laboratory test results, observations, and sample information.
• Compile, organize, and analyze laboratory data for shelf-life studies, quality investigations, and routine testing.
• Maintain organized laboratory records, spreadsheets, test reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate the preparation and shipment of samples to external laboratories, including completing required paperwork and ensuring proper sample identification, packaging, and shipping conditions.
• Receive and review external laboratory reports and assist with compiling results into internal records and reports.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and testing areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Perform routine calibration, verification, and maintenance checks on laboratory equipment as required.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and communicate when materials need to be reordered.
• Perform additional laboratory and quality-related duties as assigned.

• Diploma with 1-2 years of lab experience OR bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience in a food manufacturing, food testing, quality control, or related environment preferred.
• Experience performing pH testing and other basic analytical laboratory procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and organize data.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
