General Manager – Cannabis Retail

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for cannabis and a knack for retail operations? We’re seeking a General Manager to lead a licensed cannabis retail store in New Jersey. This is a unique opportunity to oversee a thriving retail environment where customer experience, regulatory compliance, and team culture are the top priorities.
About the Opportunity
Our client is committed to delivering a premium customer experience through expert staff, curated products, and a welcoming atmosphere. The General Manager will play a central role in ensuring the success and integrity of their day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team
- Recruit, train, and inspire staff to create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and top-tier
- Drive Daily Operations
- Oversee all aspects of store operations including opening/closing, delegation of tasks,
- cleanliness, and the in-store experience.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance
- Stay current with NJ-CRC regulations and ensure strict compliance with all SOPs and reporting
- standards. Responsible for audits, documentation, and compliance oversight.
- Monitor KPIs, coach team members on product knowledge and upselling, and ensure each
- customer interaction aligns with their brand values.
- Inventory Oversight & Reporting
- Partner with inventory leads to manage stock levels, reduce shrinkage, and ensure accurate
- sales and forecasting reports.
- Act as a Brand Ambassador
- Represent the store in the community and uphold the company’s values with professionalism
- and integrity.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail management experience (cannabis industry experience strongly preferred)
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage, motivate, and mentor a team
- Knowledge of New Jersey cannabis laws or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn regulatory requirements
- Experience with cannabis POS systems such as Treez, Flowhub, or Dutchie (Treez preferred)
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Must be 21+ and able to pass all state-mandated background checks
