Asset Protection Specialist

Overview

The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store or stores. They utilize tools to minimize loss to the Company, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing Electronic Article Surveillance, and driving a shrink-elimination culture in the store.

They prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserve evidence, interact with law enforcement, and may testify in criminal and civil court actions. They report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and perform responsibilities in a manner that minimizes the risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. They demonstrate integrity at all times and respond to asset protection and operational concerns while supporting store objectives.

• Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries; preserve evidence; interact with law enforcement; and testify in criminal and civil court actions when required.
• Identify incidents of theft and fraud; review CCTV and exception reports; monitor store security; audit Electronic Article Surveillance; and drive a shrink-elimination culture.
• Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
• Perform duties in a manner that minimizes risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company.

• Experience or training in loss prevention, security, or risk management preferred.
• Ability to interpret surveillance and exception reports and act to prevent loss.
• Strong integrity and ethical standards; ability to work with law enforcement and testify when required.
