LIBRARY PROGRAMS SPECIALIST
Part-Time | 25 Hours per Week | $19.13/Hour
Based on our participation numbers, we can confidently say:
"Tooele Loves Our Library Programs!"
This last year 40,166 patrons enjoyed our 387 programs and events from the library. Yes, you read those numbers correct! We're busy and our library routinely has something going on. Some of our regular programs include Teen Time, Tween Club, Story time, Haunted Historic Park and many others. However, the fun and learning doesn't stop there. We participate in community outreach events like Wizard Fest and many others.
As a member of our programs team, your focus will be on experiences for tweens, teens, and adults with a variety of interests, abilities, and backgrounds.
Your skills will be valued as you carry out existing programs and propose creative new ideas that align with our department purpose and mission. If you are a high-energy individual with exceptional computer, communication, organization, critical thinking, creativity, time management skills, and are comfortable being in front of and dealing with groups of people, apply today!
The job schedule is primarily morning/mid-day (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM) during the week, but also includes many times where an afternoon or evening shift is required (3:00 – 8:00 PM) and occasional Saturdays. Staffing needs for programs/events may require that we alter your schedule as needed, so flexibility in your availability is essential.
The job is also physical in nature. You'll be required to perform regular lifting, bending, climbing, walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time. It's also not unusual to see our program specialists moving and shaking with our kiddos during events, hosting teen competitions, sitting on the floor during Story Time, or becoming active participants in some of our more physical programs.
