LIBRARY PROGRAMS SPECIALIST

Part-Time | 25 Hours per Week | $19.13/Hour

Tooele Loves Our Library Programs! In the last year, 40,166 patrons enjoyed our 387 programs and events. We offer Teen Time, Tween Club, Story Time, Haunted Historic Park and many others, plus community outreach events like Wizard Fest. As a member of our programs team, you will focus on experiences for tweens, teens, and adults with a variety of interests, abilities, and backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out existing library programs and events.
  • Propose and help implement creative new program ideas that align with the department mission.
  • Plan experiences for tweens, teens, and adults with diverse interests and backgrounds.
  • Represent the library to participants and communities in a welcoming, engaging manner.
Schedule

The schedule is primarily morning to mid-day (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM) during the week, with frequent afternoon or evening shifts (3:00 – 8:00 PM) and occasional Saturdays. Scheduling may be adjusted based on program needs; flexibility in availability is essential.

Physical requirements

Regular lifting, bending, climbing, walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods. Programs involve active participation with participants during events and activities.

Qualifications
  • High-energy, with exceptional computer, communication, organization, critical thinking, creativity, and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to and engaging with groups of people.
