Forklift Operator; TPO-Weekend Day shift

Thurs‑Sat 6:30 AM‑7:00 PM (subject to change based on business need)

Forklift Operators support the shipping department with the movement of materials and products, including warehouse organization and finished goods inspection, transferring product off the production line and placing it in designated warehouse locations, and loading and unloading customer trucks. This role involves a standard 40‑hour work week with occasional overtime and no travel.

• Perform pre‑shift forklift inspections.
• Record preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output, and other key metrics, performing mathematical calculations as needed.
• Safely operate a propane sit‑down forklift to move raw materials or finished products throughout the manufacturing floor, ensuring the production line stays clear and running and that product and raw materials are properly stored.
• Visually inspect material for quality defects; segregate defective product and notify supervisor.
• Fill dumpsters from the production floor and maintain plant housekeeping (inside and out).
• Work as a team with production and shipping teams to follow all facility Standard Works/processes and improve operations.
• Support the recycling area when needed and keep it organized.
• Fill in on other plant areas (e.g., Machine Operator) as required.
• Assist forklift operator II as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Prior experience operating a propane sit‑down forklift or other mobile equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks).
• Demonstrate safe working practices and a great attention to detail.
• Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and processes.
• Good communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
• Basic computer, mathematics, and problem‑solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
• Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
• Team player able to follow instructions from management and peers.
• Ability to learn and operate new equipment.

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

• Fast‑paced manufacturing environment with exposure to ambient/outside temperatures and dust.
• Use of mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.
• Shift length 8–10 hours, with flexibility for overtime and weekend hours.
• Heavy stationary machinery on the manufacturing floor.
• Use of radio, calculator, measuring devices, hand tools, and computer (Shop Floor and ERP).

• Occasionally lift or carry 1–10 lbs; sometimes 11–20 lbs; sometimes 21–40 lbs; sometimes 41–50 lbs; occasionally 51 lbs or more.
• Pushing or pulling 1–40 lbs; sometimes 41–50 lbs; occasionally 51 lbs or more.
• Bending or stooping, reaching above shoulder level, driving automatic equipment vehicles, operating machinery or power tools, climbing ladders or stairs, walking, standing, sitting.
• Working in extreme temperatures, repetitive motion (wrists, hands, fingers), vision, hearing, dexterity, hand‑eye coordination.

• Eye and hearing protection required at all times on the production floor.
• Safety toe shoes (steel/composite).
• Hi‑Vis vests.
• Other PPE as defined by management within the assigned department.
