Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Move, sort, inspect, and deliver materials as directed following prescribed practices or instructions.
  • Conduct routine and systematic cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy across assigned storage locations, ensuring compliance with established schedules and company guidelines.
  • Inspect, identify, accurately document, and receive Detroit Diesel core components.
  • Package and prepare pass‑through core materials for shipment to other distribution centers.
  • Complete required daily paperwork and maintain accurate updates on production boards.
  • Conduct 5S audits and complete assigned daily checklists.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and suggesting process enhancements.
  • Use daily discomfort logs and report any sickness, injury, or safety concern immediately—regardless of severity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through consistent housekeeping practices.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by moving to various work areas based on production demands.
  • Be available to work overtime, including weekends, as required by the production schedule.
  • Participate in team huddles, group projects, and one‑on‑one communications to support team alignment.
  • Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–2 years of preferred experience, including core identification and strong product knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage work efficiently.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and problem‑solving.
  • Excellent attendance record and proven performance.
  • Solid math skills and strong memory retention.
  • Ability to obtain forklift and fall‑protection certifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self‑motivated and highly detail‑oriented.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and maneuvering materials weighing up to 75 pounds with proper assistance and equipment.
  • Continuous hand use, gripping, manipulating, and positioning tools or materials.
  • Standing for prolonged periods; bending, twisting, and torso rotation as necessary.
  • Frequent hand and arm movements including full‑fist gripping, pressing or pushing with thumbs and fingers, twisting the lower arm, bending wrists, and pushing/pulling equipment.
  • Reaching forward frequently during work processes.
