Move, sort, inspect, and deliver materials as directed following prescribed practices or instructions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct routine and systematic cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy across assigned storage locations, ensuring compliance with established schedules and company guidelines.
- Inspect, identify, accurately document, and receive Detroit Diesel core components.
- Package and prepare pass‑through core materials for shipment to other distribution centers.
- Complete all required daily paperwork and maintain accurate updates on production boards.
- Conduct 5S audits and complete assigned daily checklists.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and suggesting process enhancements.
- Use daily discomfort logs and report any sickness, injury, or safety concern immediately—regardless of severity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through consistent housekeeping practices.
- Demonstrate flexibility by moving to various work areas based on production demands.
- Be available to work overtime, including weekends, as required by the production schedule.
- Participate in team huddles, group projects, and one‑on‑one communications to support team alignment.
- Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Experience:
1–2 years’ preferred experience - Previous experience with core identification and strong product knowledge.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage work efficiently.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and problem‑solving as needed.
- Excellent attendance record and proven performance.
- Solid math skills and strong memory retention (both considered a plus).
- Ability to obtain forklift and fall‑protection certifications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self‑motivated and highly detail‑oriented.
- Lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 75 pounds with proper assistance, including the use of overhead cranes or approved lifting devices, following all safety procedures and team‑lifting protocols.
- Use hands continuously throughout the shift, including gripping, manipulating, and positioning tools or materials.
- Stand for prolonged periods (majority of the shift), including standing while working at benches or workstations.
- Perform frequent bending, twisting, and torso rotation throughout the shift, including reaching to lower levels, turning at the waist, and maintaining bent‑over positions as required by task demands.
- Perform frequent hand and arm movements, including:
- Push and pull equipment or materials—such as carts, pallet jacks, or bins—on a regular basis.
- Reach forward frequently during work processes.
