Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The RN utilizes the nursing process with technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence‑based practice, and coordination with other health team members.
Essential Functions- Assess:
Perform an appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as needed. Seek and evaluate information from interdisciplinary team members. - Plan:
Use assessment information and critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop an individualized plan of care. Actively involve patients, families, teams, and physicians, and develop educational components as part of the plan. - Implement:
Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration. Provide or delegate care consistent with the plan, guidelines, and licensure. Prioritize and manage time, supplies, and resources effectively. - Evaluate:
Evaluate patient responses to interventions by reviewing achievement of goals and clinical outcomes. Revise the plan of care as indicated and reassess changes as appropriate. - Professionalism:
Promote the nursing profession and support the development of colleagues. Integrate legal and ethical standards into practice, comply with regulatory standards, practice within scope of licensure, provide accurate documentation, and understand legal implications of care delivery.

- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days of employment.
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of hire.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- BSN is required as of the last update on 4/27/2025; employees hired or promoted prior to that date will be held to the requirements in place at that time.
- Need to see and read information, labels, and assess patient needs.
- Frequent verbal communication with patients, caregivers, and visitors, including rapid comprehension during emergencies.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment, with frequent computer use and typing.
- Lift and transfer patients; bend, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
- Assist with patient movement and transporting supplies, often navigating crowded rooms with equipment.
- Stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
- For driving roles: drive a vehicle, requiring observation of signs and traffic.
